World Vision: Marketing Specialist



World Vision is an international Christian humanitarian aid agency working with the most marginalized and poor communities of the world.

This position is located in World Vision JWG Gaza Office with responsibility of ensuring delivery of the market based outcomes within the Australian (DAFT) Government funded AMENCA III project which aims to see ‘Farming communities participating more effectively in markets in Gaza’.  The project will work in Beit Lahia, Beit Hanoun, East Khan Younis, East Rafah across 15 communities targeting approximately 11815 direct beneficiaries.  Duration of the project: 3 years. World Vision JWG is seeking a:
Marketing Specialist
The successful candidate will:
Conduct participatory value chain analysis with producer research teams to test viability of proposed hypothetical scenarios
Facilitate producers in developing and implementing intervention plans following the participatory value chain analysis
Identify market development opportunities that present through networks and relationships with other institutions, organizations and NGOs
Collect and record initial baseline data in an organized fashion to enable monitoring and evaluation of project impacts
Perform other duties as requested 

    Bachelors’ Degree in Economics, Business or related field
    Minimum of 2 years experience in rural marketing system, micro and small enterprise projects
    Proven experience in market assessment, market analysis, market research or closely related role
    Demonstrated experience in working with the private sector to solve development challenges
    Previous experience in research design and implementation experience
    Strong experience in networking
    Report writing experience
    A good command of  English Language
    Strong computer literacy skills including MS Office Suite; e-mail and internet
    Demonstrated experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of market development projects
    Excellent  Understanding of the culture, markets and economic conditions in Gaza
    Strong understanding of commercial market operations and systems
    Knowledge of value chain analysis and effects on poor producers
    Knowledge of primary production and agriculture
    Understanding of market development projects and methods
    Valid driving license
     Integrity and strong identification with WV Core Values
     Position is based in Gaza
